thirty-six (36) years old.

Birthday, February 6, 1945.

His parents are from Norval Marley, Royal Marines.

Bob marley Tom is my favorite singer.

Was born on February 6, 1945 in Nine Mile ( Rhoden Hall, Saint Ann Parish) , a small town north of the island of Jamaica, in the Caribbean Sea. He was the son of Cedella Booker, an Afro - Jamaican who was 18 years 6 (when Bob was born ) and Norval Marley, a white Jamaican of English descent (his family came from Essex ), captain of the Royal Marines ( Royal Marines ) who considered English, because upon entering the British Armed Forces in World War I , in the fomulario said to be English , so you do not question more thing (and because at that time Jamaica was a colony of the United Kingdom and its white population had British citizenship ) . The date of birth of Norval is controversial as many sources as born in 1895 ( so you would have 50 when his son Bob Marley was born ) but according to other sources born much earlier, in 1881. Although Norval helped his wife and child , rarely saw her son spend time traveling , in addition, according to some sources his mother ( grandmother of Bob) pressed him to stay away from the child for racial prejudice . Bob's father died when he was 10, in 1955.
Bob Marley had to endure ridicule and scorn by Jamaican blacks for being a mulatto ( mestizo product mix black and white) , especially in childhood, adolescence and early youth (said to be the brother of his first girlfriend told him that " we do not want this white house") . But after Bob showed indifferent to these slights and said not ashamed of their racial mixture , although he identified simply as black and that was the only part of his racial heritage for which he showed interest.

It was an apolitical pacifist in Jamaica, a musician and a true and devoted proponent of the Rastafarian faith. Bob Marley decided to participate in a free concert at the National Heroes Park in Kingston on December 5, 1976 to promote peace and national reconciliation , and help stop the violence . But parts of the then opposition Jamaica Labour Party criticized the show because they thought it was biased and was actually an act of support for the Prime Minister and leader of the People's National Party , Michael Manley (noted as a friend of Bob Marley) , in fact Michael Manley was the organizer behind the event . After the announcement of the concert, the Manley government called elections for December 15 ( in a clear attempt to make political capital out of it on the campaign trail ) . On December 3, 1976 , two days before "Smile Jamaica " , Bob , his wife Rita , Lewis Griffith and manager Don Taylor were wounded in an assault by unknown gunmen inside his house on 56 Hope Road , Jamaica , is thought that the attack was a reprisal of the political sectors who rejected the show for its alleged support character Manley government , although some believers in conspiracy theories considering the possibility that the CIA were involved ( as Michael Manley had come very close to Cuba's Fidel Castro) . Bob was wounded by shooting gun in the chest ( near the heart) and an arm , his wife Rita in the head, Lewis Griffith in the stomach and manager Don Taylor was also hospitalized for crossing into the line of fire . Fortunately after a while they recovered completely. Two days after the attack , Bob got on stage and sang . When asked why, he said : " The people who are trying to make this world worse are not taking a day off , how would I take it ? Light up the darkness. " It was Bob 's last performance in Jamaica over the next 18 months. Fearing another attack , left the country to go and live in London, where he recorded his next album, Exodus , one of the most important of his career and reggae.
